The August is our quintessential open-laced derby shoe, and is named for August Destouy, inventor of the welt-sewing machine in the 1860s.

Handmade in Northampton, with a Goodyear-welted sole and four-eyelet construction, the August is made of suede from Charles F Stead, a storied Yorkshire tannery that has become the name for quality British suede.
